About: Commerce Church of Christ a diverse church in both membership and leadership. The ministry to college students was launched in 1957 and is located adjacent to the campus. From the beginning all the way to the present, this outreach has been overseen by the elders of the Commerce Church of Christ, assisted by numerous other congregations and individuals. It is called Lions for Christ (LFC), based on the mascot of East Texas A&M university. They consider it a true mission field at the doorstep as they minister to students from many areas of the United States and to international students as well.
