About: The Talladega congregation of the church of Christ was established the first Sunday in October of 1938. The congregation was first located at 410 Court Street North, but outgrew this location and a new larger building was constructed in 1954 at the present 416 East Street North location. Subsequent additions included an education building, library conference room. Also, existing classrooms and offices were remodeled at that time. In 1999 a fellowship building was constructed. Several capital improvements have been made over the years concerning roof replacements, parking lot addition, air conditioning systems, audio visual system, new signage, and new baptistry. They believe the Bible is the only guide. It is the foundation for everything we teach and do. They support mission fields such “In Search of the Lord’s Way,” “International Gospel Hour,” “School of Bible Emphasis,” “Good News Today” and the “Faulkner School of Preaching.” They also conduct worship services at 2 PM at the Howard Veteran’s Home in Pell City on the first and fifth Sunday’s of each month. They support their members and those in the community when emergency needs arise. They support the local food pantry with canned food drives. The minister resigned on June 1, 2025, to return to his hometown to live and to continue performing church work.
