The Word we Preach

Dear Father in Heaven,

We pray for the men who will preach Your Word on Sunday. We pray that You will help us never forget that this is Your Word, not ours. We pray that we will remind ourselves, and those who hear us, of the power contained in Your Word. Help us never forget that Your Word changes minds, hearts, and lives.

We are thankful for what Your Word can do. We are thankful that it offers a prescription for our pain. We are thankful that it helps us defeat our enemy. We are thankful that it lights our path when the road is dark. We are thankful that it guides us when we are blinded by the world. We are thankful that it teaches us when confusion reigns everywhere.  Help us, Dear God, to instill these thoughts into the hearts of everyone we can possibly reach. In the Name of Jesus, we Pray, Amen.
