It's Monday

What was yesterday like? You preached. Was it a good sermon? Perhaps. You've had Sundays when you walked away encouraged. You've had others when you felt you could have done better. You taught. Did the class connect? Maybe. You ministered, encouraged, listened, confronted. Like most weeks, some moments were wonderful. Others were frustrating. Some conversations drained you. Others reminded you why you do this. There was good, and there was bad.

The good news is. It’s Monday. Maybe it feels like a monday and you're dragging. Or maybe it feels like a MONDAY and you can't wait to get after it. Either way...it's Monday.

Here’s the good news. It’s Monday! And, yesterday you worshiped the Lord. Yesterday you poured your heart into His people. You cannot relive it. You cannot rewrite it. But you don't have to. 

Yesterday. Yesterday is gone. 

It’s Monday and today you have another day to live for the Lord. Today you have a clean slate. It’s Monday, six days till your next Sunday and to preach and teach about Jesus. It’s Monday, and you can minister today. The Lord gave you a Monday - go out and live it for Him. Thank God for Monday! 

The Bible never uses the word Monday, but it is filled with Monday reality: fresh mercies, renewed strength, daily bread, and new beginnings. It’s all over your Bible. Monday! A new day. 

"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day." (2 Corinthians 4:16)

"The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:22–23)

"But those who wait for the LORD will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint." (Isaiah 40:31)

“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new." (2 Corinthians 5:17)

"This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." (Psalm 118:24)

Yesterday's victories don't have to make you proud.

Yesterday's failures don't have to define you.

God has given you what you need for today.

His mercies are new.

His strength is available.

His grace is sufficient.

It's Monday. Go love people. Go serve Jesus. Go enjoy the gift God just handed you.
