As preachers and servants of God, we will do a lot of talking this week. As a point of fact, a lot of people will do a lot of talking this week. There will be a lot of talk about living for Jesus, some will actually live for Jesus. There will be a lot of talk about doing good for others, some will just go out and do good for others. There will be a lot of talk about loving our enemies; a few people will treat their enemies like they love them.
There will be a lot of people talking about sharing the Gospel, some will share the Gospel either with their mouths or their life with everyone who crosses their path. A lot of people will talk about the fact that life isn’t about us, it’s about God, but will we be someone who actually lives our life like it’s all about Him. A lot of people will speak of glorifying God, some will do their best to glorify God in everything they do, everything they write, and every word they say.
As men of God, we should help set the standard. We should show the world what it means to allow our walk to match our talk. May God help us to be who and what we claim to be. Let’s do our best this week to make sure we are not just talking about Jesus, but we are showing Christ to those around us.
“For God, who said, “Light shall shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.” (2 Corinthians 4:6)
