About the Congregation
The McEwen Church of Christ is a loving, Bible-centered congregation dedicated to glorifying God through worship, evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, and service. The congregation seeks a faithful gospel preacher who will work alongside our elders, deacons, ministry leaders, and members to strengthen the church and advance the Kingdom of God in our community and beyond.
Position Title: Pulpit Minister (Full-Time)
Purpose of the Position
The Pulpit Minister will serve as the primary preacher and spiritual teacher of the congregation, providing biblical instruction, leadership in evangelism and discipleship efforts, pastoral care, and support to the elders in carrying out the mission and ministry of the church.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
● Be a baptized believer and faithful member of the Lord’s church.
● Demonstrate a deep knowledge of Scripture and sound doctrine.
● Exhibit Christian character consistent with biblical principles.
● Possess strong preaching and teaching abilities.
● Have a passion for evangelism and outreach.
● Demonstrate effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
● Work cooperatively with elders, deacons, ministry leaders, and members.
● Be committed to spiritual growth, congregational development, and community engagement.
● Previous ministry experience is preferred but not required.
Primary Responsibilities
Preaching and Teaching
● Prepare and deliver biblically sound sermons during scheduled worship services.
● Develop sermon series and lessons that encourage spiritual growth and biblical understanding.
● Teach Bible classes as assigned.
● Provide doctrinal guidance and instruction consistent with New Testament Christianity.
● Assist in developing educational opportunities for all age groups.
Evangelism and Outreach
● Lead and encourage congregational evangelism efforts.
● Conduct personal Bible studies with members and non-members.
● Assist in developing outreach strategies that connect the congregation with the surrounding community.
● Encourage members to actively participate in sharing the gospel.
Pastoral Care and Member Support
● Visit members who are sick, hospitalized, homebound, grieving, or experiencing personal difficulties.
● Provide biblical counseling and spiritual guidance when appropriate.
● Assist in member assimilation and follow-up with visitors and new members.
● Support members in their spiritual development and discipleship.
Leadership and Ministry Support
● Work closely with the elders in carrying out the congregation’s mission and ministry plan.
● Support and encourage deacons, ministry leaders, and volunteers.
● Participate in leadership meetings and ministry planning activities.
● Assist in identifying, developing, and mentoring future church leaders.
Community Engagement
● Represent the congregation positively within the community.
● Build relationships with community members and organizations that provide opportunities for service and evangelism.
● Encourage congregational involvement in community outreach efforts.

Compensation and Benefits
