About: Alvaton church of Christ is looking for the best fit for its pulpit minister role. At least 5 years of experience is necessary, and the church prefers a candidate with 5-10 years of ministry experience and a family who is supportive and involved in ministry. The congregation is being selective in its process and wants a person who is evangelistic and plans on staying with the congregation.

The Pulpit Minister should be a skilled communicator and orator who connects with audiences in a way that encourages spiritual growth. He should also be willing and able to fill in for the Youth and Family Minister when opportunities and needs arise.

Responsibilities include preaching and teaching in corporate assembly settings, preaching the Word, being prepared in season and out of season, correcting, rebuking, and encouraging with great patience and careful instruction, teaching Bible classes, supporting mission efforts from the pulpit and on-site during mission trips, leading adults and older family members in Bible study and fellowship activities that develop the adult programs of the church, leading and supporting the children's programs, leading and supporting connection groups, and coordinating Wednesday night devotionals.

The minister should be energetic and passionate about adults and their families, as well as preaching, serving, and ministry. He should engage the community with unwavering commitment, driven by a personal conviction that evangelism is non-negotiable. He should participate in church fellowship activities, connect with members of the congregation, visit members in the hospital when needed, help support members in times of loss by attending visitations and funerals, visit with people in their homes or invite people into the minister's home, and provide or refer members to counseling as needed.

The minister will work cooperatively with the eldership, participate in other ministry opportunities as assigned by the elders, and meet regularly with elders and deacons. He should maintain personal study time in the Word for continued personal growth.

The elders encourage concern for personal balance in ministry regarding family needs. Gross annual salary is based upon experience. The Pulpit Minister will receive 3 full weeks of vacation, including up to 4 Sundays per year. The Pulpit Minister will also receive support for continuing professional growth, including help paying to attend an elder-approved Church of Christ lectureship or similar event each year.
