A Prayer for Wisdom

Father:

We ask for wisdom for these Your men who stand before others with the mission to speak Your Truth. Each of them need wisdom: wisdom of when to speak to a matter and when to back off, wisdom to know how much to say or how little, wisdom to navigate when to speak a strong word and when to speak with more gentleness, wisdom to see people as You see them, wisdom to navigate culture, wisdom in dealing with difficult people, wisdom to lead, wisdom to let others lead, wisdom to act and wisdom to deligate, wisdom to answer critics without becoming one, wisdom to learn from both success and failure, wisdom in specific situations they will be faced with today and tomorrow, wisdom in our to arrange their use of time knowing what can wait until tomorrow and what must be acted on today, wisdom to make decisions today that they will not regret tomorrow, wisdom to know what matters most, wisdom in understanding Your Word. Give them wisdom beyond their years, grace beyond their wounds, and strength beyond themselves.

You have it, all of it, the perfect wisdom that comes from above. You have promised to give generously to those who ask without reproach, so we ask boldly and confidently. Fill these men with Your wisdom. We trust You in Your Wisdom. Now help us to receive this gift humbly, use it faithfully, and reflect it daily. 

May these Your men speak Your Word with wisdom, live it out with wisdom, and leave behind the fragrance of Christ wherever they go.
