A Prayer for Focus

Father, today we pray for these Your ministers. There is so much today to draw them away from purpose and mission. It seems to have become easy for sub-purposes to obscure prime purposes. For us to get entangled in the noise, in the peripheral matters, that have a place but can divert us from the true mission we have of spreading the Good News of Jesus and the salvation You have only in and through Him. Help each to remember that the evil one is evil. That that one does not care about Right, or Truth, or Saving Souls, but will use any manner to distract your people from THE MATTER - Souls. If that deceiver can convince us that our loudest voice should be politics, or social justice, or traditions of men — or any issue that becomes a side hobby to Your mission — he will gladly do so. So steady these Your Ambassadors, Lord. May they go boldly against the stream. Guard their hearts. Clear their focus. Renew them as they launch Your Truth, Your News, Your Voice into a world that so badly needs. Remind them that the gospel is still powerful, the harvest is still ready, and You are still building Your church.
