A Prayer for Preachers on Father's Day

Dear Father in Heaven,

On Sunday many of Your men will preach sermons to honor fathers because of their faithfulness or they will preach sermons to challenge men to be better fathers. Some of these men will preach for the first time on Father’s Day without their earthly dads. Others will think about how much we miss our dads, even though they’ve been gone for several years. We pray that You will be with those who may be hurting even as they seek to take Your Word and bring comfort and encouragement to Christian dads.

Our prayer is, that above all things that those of us who preach will honor You, our perfect Father. We pray that we will honor You with our words, with our thoughts, with our actions, with our attitudes, with our hearts, and with the way we proclaim Your Truth.

Help us to remember that You are a loving Father who will never leave us, never disappoint us, never harm us, never forget us, never stop loving us, and never walk out on us during tough times. May each of these men who will preach Your Word on Sunday, be blessed by the knowledge that we have the most faithful Father we could possibly have.

In Jesus Name, Amen.
