Seven Word Sermons

Seven-Movie-Wallpaper-1.jpg

My friend Adam Faughn over at the “A Legacy Of Faith” site mentioned Jonah’s seven word sermon from “Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown” (Jonah 3:4).

Believe it or not (and most of you won’t - especially my dear friend Bayron) I’ve had more people tell me I should preach longer than fuss at me for going too long. Nonetheless I also am weekly (or more often) aware of the benefits of word economy.  It worked for Jonah so how about for us?

Worship God faithfully, fully, truthfully, with spirit.

Dress modestly because people are watching you.

Giving generously always pay you back richly.

Live authentically in the moment with Faith!

Do good to others, love them freely.

Treat others as you’d wish to be.

Happiness is a choice of the will.

Faith grows strongest rooted in the Word!

Tell others about what you love most.

The church is the bride of Christ.

Truth doesn’t change even though culture does.

The world needs your influence for good.

Be joyful God is always in control.

Good always wins out in the end.

Be kind to people even mean ones.

Find your gift - give it to God.

Live in hope of God’s great promises.
