First Thoughts

August 31, 2009

Our home is in Flower Mound, TX.  Flower Mound got it’s name from a mound of (you guessed it) flowers, on the south side of town. Just a few years ago Flower Mound was a  quaint little village a few miles north of Dallas.  But, don’t let the name deceive you.  This month Forbes Magazine named Flower Mound the sixth best place in America to move (number one in Texas).  We live about nine miles from DFW, one of the largest and busiest airports in the world. Our little corner of the world is exploding with growth. We love Flower Mound!

One of the greatest joys of my life is the opportunity to preach for the great Lewisville church.  Lewisville was started eleven years ago by a group of about 150 Christians who felt a need for another congregation of God’s people in this area.  Today we have nearly 1100 folks who make up this church.  God continues to bless us with new members on a weekly basis. We are blessed beyond measure. Another great joy is the blessing of traveling around the country encourage Christians and preach the Word. It is a tremendous privilege to spend time with God's people.

Some of my most productive work is done sitting right here in Flower Mound.  So, I have decided to jump into the blogosphere.  Some would say there is no need for another blogger, we already have too many.  You will probably read very few new insights in this blog.  This will be no Sermon on the Mount.  It will not be earth-shattering.  This is just an effort to encourage you in your walk with the Lord.  Thoughts from the Mound to help along your journey to Heaven.

No promises here on how often posts will be made, just from time to time. On occasion this blog will be used to disseminate information to members of the Lewisville church. Sometimes notes to my family and perhaps a few random thoughts for everyone.  May God bless you in everything you do for Him and may you always remain faithful to Him as you live your life.

See you soon!
