God is Using You

It may be the child who drew a picture of you preaching or a picture of what you preached about on Sunday. It may be a brother who recently lost his wife, and he says to you, “Thank you for that message, it comforted my heart today.” It may be the single Mom who spent hours getting her children ready for worship who said she is thankful for you, your family, and your work. It may be someone who doesn’t say a word to you, but your preaching and ministry have impacted their lives in ways you can’t imagine.

We don’t always hit a “home run.” At times, we don’t feel great physically, mentally, or emotionally. Sometimes we feel exhausted and run-down. But, can I tell you something, brother? God’s ability to use us to encourage, strengthen, challenge, and bless others is not about us. It is about Him.

Even still, since the dawn of creation, He has used people to accomplish His purposes. People who are imperfect and insecure. People who don’t feel prepared and who don’t feel qualified. The list of God’s men in scripture who God used who are not worthy is long and illustrious.

So, this week, please don’t forget that it’s not about us, but about God. When we are weak, He is strong. When we don’t feel worthy, He brings worth to our efforts. When we are insecure, He is certain. When we feel powerless, He has all power. When we don’t know what the future holds, He holds the future. Thank you, dear brother, for allowing our Great God to use you for His glory. M
