About: Renton Church of Christ is a close-knit family of believers who love God’s Word, support one another, and welcome others. The congregation includes all ages and averages 60–70 in attendance. It currently has no elders; a Spiritual Matters Committee (SMC) provides temporary leadership and will oversee the preacher until elders can be appointed.
The congregation is open to part-time or flexible work arrangements. It seeks a man who communicates biblical truth and grace, builds relationships, handles differences with wisdom, and encourages the spiritual growth of the entire congregation.
Responsibilities: Prepare and deliver Sunday morning sermons. Teach adult Bible classes on Sunday mornings and/or Wednesday evenings, either regularly or in rotation. Develop curriculum and study materials with the SMC. Model discipleship and equip members to disciple others; participate in congregational events and small groups. Meet monthly with the SMC and coordinate scheduled absences and availability. Preparing lesson outlines for the bulletin and social media is preferred.
Qualifications: Strong Christian character, including integrity, humility, self-control, patience, and faithfulness; commitment to Christ and the authority of Scripture; and the ability to teach clearly. Five or more years of ministry experience is preferred. Preacher preparation may include a bachelor’s degree, a school of preaching certificate, internships, or relevant work experience.
Compensation: Salary will be negotiated with the SMC based on education and experience, subject to congregational approval.
