About: Cameron Avenue Church of Christ in Colonial Heights, Virginia, seeks an experienced preaching minister. The congregation is led by two elders and five ministry leaders (deacons), with Sunday morning attendance of 90–100. Its mission is to share the gospel in the Tri-Cities area. The church seeks a married, experienced leader who will make Cameron Avenue home, help the congregation grow, and contribute to its long-term ministry.
Responsibilities: Deliver biblically based sermons, organize adult Bible classes, mentor and study with individuals, and plan special services and events. Collaborate with elders, ministry leaders, and families; connect with members and guests in the community; and help organize and expand the church’s website and social media presence.
Qualifications: A strong personal relationship with Christ, at least two years of preaching experience, and effective teaching, preaching, and writing skills. A ministry degree is preferred.
Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience; the church describes the salary as above the local median income.
Interview Process: Ministry questionnaire, candidate screening, video interview with the elders and consultant, and in-person meetings with the elders and family.
