Three lonely little scoops…

This week we have three lonely little scoops waiting to be “scooped” up and waiting for you to add to them:

The Glendale church in Bryant AL wants you (well maybe not YOU, but someone to preach for them).  It is a church of about 60-70.  They have home, insurance, and retirement.  Their current minister is Charles Broyles, was there for 10-12 years.

Travis Irwin gives the ultimate confirmation of a scoop as he wrote that HE had resigned as the preacher at Brushy Sunday morning. He will be going to Athens, TN to do associate in November. The Brushy work would needs someone who wants to preach part-time and work with, as Travis says it “some wonderful folks, have a house furnished to him, someone who likes to fish and hunt (and even ride four wheelers)”.   This is where David Shannon learned how to preach.   If interested call David's dad Roy at 931 729 4817 or shoot him an email to RCShannon@msn.com. Roy is one of the elders there. The Brushy church will need someone within 55 days and sooner if the right candidate comes along.

The church in Belleville, IL’s preacher of 21 years has left so they are looking: ARCHIE MONTGOMERY (ELDER) 904 KERNON DRIVE BELLEVILLE, IL. 62223 618-398-9221

Now on some housekeeping notes: I need to make it very clear, ‘cause some of you don’t get it. This page does not and is not intended to state in any way the health or lack there of concerning any congregation. It is a gathering place. If something looks interesting to you CHECK IT OUT. That is your responsibility not mine. I have been a member of a member of six congregations in my life not fifteen thousand. I don’t have the time, wisdom or knowledge to access the churches listed here. That’s your job, OK. How foolish would one be to take a job based on a web page. It’s information guys. Some churches write saying they are looking for a “sound” preacher. Not sure I get that, does that mean that the ones who don’t use that magic buzzword must automatically be looking for an unsound preacher or are unsound themselves? Sound? In what ways, by who’s list or standards (I know the answer will come back, God’s) BUT the fact is that what I might conclude as sound another might not. Most all preachers and churches would consider themselves sound by their own study or they would change to be that. I hope that makes sense. I’m not getting into that field. I know that comment might elicit various comments but I’m not asking for them, just saying it is not my intent to judge the health of a congregation or if someone should move there.

Let me close with this. I’m not mad, hurt or frustrated, but just need to occasionally unpack an explanation of what we are trying to do here. Provide a service. For it to work, we NEED you to submit names, to forward it on to others, to do your own INVESTIGATING and for you to BEHAVE :). Have a super day my friends.
