Friday stuff...

Friday updates...just some good random stuff for your weekend.

First some family news. Philip announced Sunday that he and Laura will be leaving Millview to take the youth ministry work at Savannah. I couldn’t be happier for them. This is a great congregation in a good location and Laura will continue her education and already has a good job offer. The only sad part is that they are leaving a place they have really enjoyed and that has enjoyed and accepted them. It’s one of those tough things in ministry, they love the people where they are but believe they can do more where they are going. The move, as most are, will require some degree of adjustment - i know you’ll pray for them.

And our Andrew returns from his mission trip to Mexico tonight. He called a while ago and had just crossed the border. We are to pick him up at the airport tonight. He will be with us for the weekend and then Sunday afternoon will head out to Hamilton to do his third internship with that great church, that is such a part of our life, this summer. I’m proud of him and thankful for them.

Here are three blog posts you might want to read that I thought thought had some intriguing topics to think about.

Our friend Jonathan Jones at the Spring Hill church writes well. This one on songs is spot on.

I don’t know Jeff Foster (I don’t think I do anyway) but he says some thing here that a church involved in building should hear.

Good post on youth ministry by our brave friend Matthew Morine. Brave, for he will take on any subject.

Finally - some pics - we are up 26 blocks in places now and I’m told we should have the two side walls done in just a few days!
