11 scoops today...

Got quite a few posts and a couple I can't give out yet :) There's always that tug between posting and waiting. Sometimes I wait and then no announcement is made and then other times I wait and then another one comes that will be announced the "next week."  Leaves me sometimes with "old news" by the time I do a post.

One more note on the blog. The hardest thing is when I "get to" report news of an opening that is unfortunate, someone has been fired or had a "stumble" that led to his leaving.  But the news, even, some I don't enjoy reporting is the news.  Regardless, here goes this week's scoops:

A dear friend a fellow gospel preacher has written a "prayer guide" for the congregation that he works with about praying for our country. It is well done and apropos for RIGHT NOW.  He shares it under one condition - he does not want credit. In his words: "I would just like to offer a little spiritual, non-partisan encouragement, without pushing any candidates." It is well formatted and well done. If you would like a copy of it email me at dale@edge.net.   I have it in PDF and Word formats.

Jeremy Hinote gets the first scoop this week. He reports that the Aiken, SC congregation is looking for a preacher. Scott Ansede is head of search committee 253 441-9295. I'm not sure this is the correct webpage and it does not have  a lot of information on it but here you go: http://www.aikenchurch.org/

Daniel Courington got to this scoop FIRST. TheKensington Woods congregation in Hattisburg, MS is looking for an education minister.  Seth Sullivan moving to Waynesboro MS to preach there.  I was honored to be a part of a campaign with KW with summer. They are good people. Here's the link.

CORRECTION from last post:  The Rose Hill congregation in Columbus, GA, not in Arkansas as I reported is looking. AND Jordan's last name is Coss not Cross. When I get it wrong, I get it wrong big!! At least he's not the bride I called by the WRONG name two weeks ago - THREE TIMES!!!!

The Woodbury congregation has hired a new associate minister. Daniel Hayes has been preaching at Hillsboro in Manchester. The contact I found was David Beard and his email address is dmjsbeard@gmail.com

Michael Grooms reports that Highland Heights in Lebanon, TN is accepting applications for the position of family minister. The guy they want will have experience working with families, preaching, teaching Bible classes and organizing church related activities. He should also be able to work with members on an individual basis. They are looking for a married man and would prefer that he have children. Send your resume, and if you have audio of sermons to staff@highlandheights.org. Robin Forrest is the deacon in charge of the search effort.

The Hendersonville in NC looking for a preacher and a youth minister.  Their preacher, Steve Teel, is going to Honduras to direct Baxter Institute. The youth guy Rob Frazier is looking. He's a great guy if you know of a good lead send it his way: preachermanrob@yahoo.com, or text by phone: 828-388-1092. To find out more about Hendersonville go here.

The Locust Grove congregation in Cookeville, TN is looking. It is a church of about 140 people and they are looking for a part time preacher. David Flatt has been the preacher. He is planning on continuing to worship there.  All I have contact wise is this number, (931) 432-5556. If you know of more post it in the comments below please.

The 10th and Vine Street church in Ironton, OH is looking for a preacher. Their current preacher is leaving on good terms after over a decade of service. The congregation has three elders and a Sunday morning attendance of approximately 125. The work is full time. Anyone interested should contact Sam Hall, one of the elders, 740 533-1152.

Jeremy Houck scoops that the Park Central Church of Christ, located in Port Arthur Texas, is looking for youth minister. Part of their announcement says: "We believe that ministry is done every day of the week, inside and outside the walls of our building, and done in a variety of ways. We are intent on being a family of believers who actively and intentionally work in our community to reach out to the lost and hurting."  Here's the link. Send resumes to Bruce Powell at bhpowell2@att.net

The North Alabama Children's Home is in need of a good used 15-20+ passenger bus like vehicle. If you are upgrading or have an extra or would like to help them out they would be interested in hearing from you. They would like one "at a great price." The bus will be used to transport our children to and from school, around town, etc. This is a good work. Contact Don Williams: 256 366-3327.  Website http://www.nacch.com/

As always let me know of corrections/additions/etc.  Thanks for helping.
