A handful of hard truths

  1. At some point the leadership of “your church” is going to make a decision that you do not like.  I don’t care if you have elders, or a pastor, or claim to be “self-governed” by votes of the members. It is going to happen.  This is true whether you are a member of a church, or a deacon in a church, or a preacher at a church or an elder over a church!
  2. The elders are not just the elders when they make decisions with which I agree. If “your church” is blessed to have men who are willing to put in the time, accept the criticism and try to shepherd the souls of others then you really (!!!!!) need to consider Hebrews 13:17
  3. A sign of maturity is not having to have your way to be happy.
  4. You would be well served to not run off, or trail off, or get in a huff and see how many other people you can stir up - but to talk to them and to listen to them and to love them regardless.
