People who “get it done”

One of the greatest blessings in my life has been to know and love and be associated with some of the finest “get it done” people anywhere! I don’t know where most churches would be without them. They are the “go to” gals and guys who populate most any good church. If you are one of those folks - you probably know it and I say “thanks!” you bless my and many other lives.

I tend to like people who get stuff done.  I also like it when those people are sensitive to people's feelings...sometimes those two are hard to get in the same person.  I remember in my first work I locked horns with the lady who was our best “get it done” people. I knew she was and was thankful for her but she often would go about stuff totally obvious to the feelings of the people around her. We talked and both probably grew from it. The person that I know who can get more stuff to happen than anyone I think I know has this same issue. This person makes stuff happen...but someone has to go behind and pick up the shrapnel left behind.  I love the person but sure hate to hear when they step on others. These folks have boundless energy, creativity, and the stamina to see a project through, but often move so fast and try to make it happen so well without meaning to (I believe) offend a lot of folk.  Frankly, I have to constantly watch myself on this!!!!

We are blessed with so many "get it done" type folks at Spring Meadows and so far most every time when there is a collision everyone has left the situation working together and with a greater love for each other. I suppose this is a caution to all you “get it done” saints, to act like, well, saints. If you suspicion you have offended someone, chances are you have, make it right. If you “go off” in trying to get a project through, go back and correct your unkindness.

Sometimes these good folks think that their bad behavior is necessary and justifiable. I believe we can accomplish much but still be the people Jesus calls us to be. He did.

So:
- don’t step on people
- don’t exclude people
- don’t fly off the handle
- seek peace and restoration with others who are trying to live for the Lord
- check out with others often to see how you are doing on this

I love you all...let’s get it done BUT behave like Christ!
