Big scoops today...

A large double scoop today. Someone suggested every time they saw my scoop of ice cream they thought of Fritos, so here ya go. A lot of news today:

The Eva church in Eva, AL is looking for a full-time guy. I only heard about that one this week...but the scoop goes to Travis Irwin who reminded me I had not posted it. Eva’s a very neat little town in North Alabama. There are only about 300 people who live there but the church has about 100 or so members (or at least last I heard that was the number). So that’s about a third of the town! I preached in Eva in the early ’80’s a loved the place and the people. Some of you will know Steve Cummings, he also preached there a while. Contact I think Ron Ryan for details - RRyan@alfains.com

The church in Franklin, KY is looking for a preacher. David Hamilton has been there for several years and prior to him Steve Baggett filled that pulpit for a good number of years. They have a pretty new building and are a large congregation in a small town. Incidentally this is the church that golfer, Kenny Perry, is a member at. They have a website: www.franklinchurchofchrist.org. Bill Perkins gets the scoop on this one.

The East Wood Church in Paris, Tennessee will be looking for a new guy too. Roger Banks has been there since 1989 and is leaving. This church has done a lot of good and is a leading congregation in the area. Contact them on their website: www.eastwood-coc.org/. I got that scoop from several people almost at the same time - tie scoop - no points! :) We might need a ruling from Connelly on this one.

Word on the street is that the Kensington Woods, Mississippi church has hired. I have a name but until I know that it is public info I’ll hold off.

The Eastside congregation in Maryville, TN is looking for a preacher. I’ll thank Paul Spurlin for that scoop. You might contact Dan Chambers at Maryville as I have no contact info for the church there.

The Brewton church in Alabama, about two hours north of Pensacola is in search of a guy for the 120ish member church there. Hey, you’re two hours from the beach and I hear they compensate well to boot.

Greg Pollock is moving from Senath, MO (in the boot heel) to Booneville, MS, so the Senath, MO congregation is looking as well. Alas I have no contact info there either. And, bummer, I don’t remember who told me about it :(.

That should bring you about up to date - if you know of others...please share...unless you’re holding the info for yourself :). Thanks to all who sent in updates.
